First recorded and issued in 1907, "Uncle Josh Plays Santa Claus" was an early reissue on Columbia's double-sided records in 1908, paired with Ada Jones' "Let's Take an Old-Fashioned Walk."

This picture of Cal Stewart, roughly contemporary with the recording, is from the Hamilton Hobby Press 1986 reprint of Punkin Center Stories by Cal Stewart, which was originally published in 1903.
